A Day in New York

Last week I had a few days off and wanted to do something fun. I've lived in Philly for almost 3 years now and haven't been to New York. I went with my family when I was about 13, but we mostly did tourist stuff and visited museums.

My friend Maile had a 3-month internship in New York so I figured she would have some good recommendations and ideas on what to see, since she lived there. Maile, my friend Chris, and I took a Megabus into the city and began our day.

We started by grabbing a delicious breakfast sandwich at the Chelsea Market and made our way to a delicious coffee house. We grabbed our iced coffees from Blue Bottle and walked the High Line. The High Line was probably one of my favorite places on the trip. I love the combination of urban and earthy, it's a really cool thing.

Then we took the subway (!!) to SoHo, where we did some window shopping and crying over beautiful shoes and purses in Madewell. From there we walked to Little Italy to grab some pizza, cannolis, and gelato. It was interesting that the China Town and Little Italy are right next to each other, but I really like the vibe of SoHo and Little Italy.

After we filled up, we hopped in a cab towards Central Park. I had seen a Jamba Juice and I couldn't resist. So I bought a strawberry surf-rider, my fav, and we hung around in the park.

Before we knew it was getting dark and looking like it was going to rain. We made our way back to the bus but it started to rain, so we grabbed a cab and made it back to the bus stop.

New York is HUGE and there is so much to explore. I'm looking forward to visiting soon :)
